There are many areas in life that ordinary consumers can't reach in life. Today, I came to CEIDI to tell you about a relatively unpopular laboratory, which is today's protagonist-the sniffing room. As the name suggests, the main function is to smell and distinguish the odor of the test organization. In real life, as a part of environmental scientific research laboratories, the olfactory debate room also condenses the hard work of many olfactory researchers. The profession of "professional smell smelling" sounds inexplicably sad, but it is an indispensable functional link of the people's livelihood work organization. What kind of function does the olfactory debate room perform? In routine operations, law enforcement personnel of the environmental protection department first collect the odorous gas, and then send it to the laboratory for the sniffers to smell it. If it is confirmed that the odor concentration exceeds the standard, the law enforcement personnel will order the pollution source to be treated within a time limit, thereby purifying the environment. About 70% of this is corporate exhaust gas, and the rest are complaints and reports from residents, such as detection and judgment of liquefied gas leaks. The sniffing room is a carrier that provides a crystalline air environment for sniffers.
As a professional olfactory laboratory function room, the olfactory debate room has strict standards in the design and layout of links. In this article, CEIDI Xidi will make relevant science popularization on three aspects: the design and layout of the smelling laboratory, the environmental requirements of the smelling laboratory, and the decoration of the smelling laboratory.
How should the sniffing laboratory be laid out?
1. In terms of layout, there should be at least two spaces (namely, the gas distribution room and the smelling room). The gas distribution room should be adjacent to the smelling room, which can provide samples conveniently and efficiently. However, the two areas should be separated to reduce odor interference.
2. The facilities that need to be equipped in the gas distribution room mainly include workbenches, sinks, storage facilities, and other necessary facilities. According to the purpose of the laboratory, the use of facilities and devices that interfere with the inspection should be minimized. The use of detergents should not leave an odor in the inspection area, and a corresponding fume hood should be equipped. The smelling room should be far away from places emitting foul smells, try to keep it tasteless, the room can be ventilated and keep the temperature at 17℃~25℃, and at least 6 smellers can work at the same time. To avoid errors, sniffers try not to leave the sniffing room during sniffing.
3. The workbench in the sniffing room needs to arrange a large number of sniffing bags to be sniffed, and there is enough space for the sniffers to fill in the records, so the table should be as wide as possible, the length of the table should be at least 2.0 m, and the width is 0. 8 m. In order to avoid interference and mutual communication during the sniffing process, it is best to use an independent workbench with shielded partitions for work.
What are the environmental requirements in the sniffing laboratory?
①The temperature in the smelling room is maintained at 17℃-25℃.
②The indoor is equipped with an aerodynamic exhaust system to meet the requirements of 8 air changes per hour and noise below 60 decibels (dB).
③Select a special room without any peculiar smell as the smelling room, so as not to be polluted by the peculiar smell of the surrounding environment.
④The sniffer has an independent working space, and the gas distribution work cannot be performed in the sniffer.
⑤Temperature and humidity meters should be installed indoors, and humidifying devices should be installed indoors in dry areas to ensure that the relative humidity is greater than 70%.
⑥When the outdoor ambient air cannot guarantee that the odor concentration is less than 10 (dimensionless), a deodorizing device should be installed indoors.
⑦When necessary, add a transition zone before the sniffing room to reduce the impact of environmental odors on the sniffers.
The key points of the decoration of the sniffing laboratory?
1. The building materials used for floors, ceilings and other facilities should be odorless and non-absorbent. The fresh air system should be installed as a whole, and the gas should be purified with regularly replaced activated carbon to minimize the interference of the external and internal odors of the laboratory on the smelling experiment. When necessary, the formation of positive pressure can be used to reduce the intrusion of external air.
2. The internal facilities of the sampling preparation room include laboratory benches, racks, pools, fume hoods, or mechanical ventilation devices; the internal facilities of the sample preparation room include laboratory benches, racks, and article cabinets; the internal facilities of the sniffing room include sniffing tables and chairs ; Labs equipped with olfactory devices should also add olfactory test benches. The above facilities are all made of odorless, low-absorptive materials.
3. The width of the experimental platform is not less than 0.75m, the total length of the experimental platform in the sampling preparation room is not less than 1.5m, and the total length of the experimental platform in the sample preparation room is not less than 4.0m. The height of the sniffing platform is 0.80m, and it is divided into 6 independent sniffing positions by partitions, each of which is not less than 1.0m in length, not less than 0.50m in width, and not less than 0.30m in height.
4. The preparation of laboratory equipment in the sampling preparation room and sample preparation room shall refer to the relevant requirements of GB/T 14675.
5. The indoor noise level of the sniffing room should be lower than 45dB(A); the indoor temperature fluctuation should not exceed ±3℃ during the experiment.
As a part of the odor laboratory, the odor laboratory must be treated rigorously in the process of design and decoration. The first-level odor laboratory generally has five functions: buffer room, sampling preparation room, sample preparation room, odor detection room, and rest room. Area. The secondary odor olfactory laboratory generally has three functional areas: a sampling preparation room, a sample preparation room, and an olfactory room. In the setting, such as adjacent to the chemical laboratory, drug storage room and other places that are prone to disturbing odors, buffer rooms should be set up. The sample preparation room should be adjacent to the olfactory room with 2 transfer windows.
