For PCR laboratory design, 7 precautions must be mastered, which are mainly reflected in: main structure, standard three-zone separation and air pressure adjustment, disinfection, mechanical interlocking stainless steel transfer window, ground, lighting, sample processing area, the following are these Will be introduced in detail.

1. Main structure

The main materials designed by the PCR laboratory are color steel plates and aluminum alloys. In order to solve the problem of dust and dust accumulation, all internal and external corners in the laboratory must use aluminum alloy 50 internal round aluminum. In addition, the design should be concise, beautiful and generous, while taking into account the firm structure and good sealing.

2. Standard three-zone separation and air pressure adjustment

The so-called standard three-zone separation means that the PCR laboratory is divided into three separate zones: reagent preparation, specimen preparation, and PCR amplification and detection. There must be an overall buffer corridor to connect 3 independent areas, and each independent area has a dedicated buffer zone.

The so-called air pressure adjustment is the adjustment of the air pressure in the laboratory, which can avoid sample contamination in the experiment, and can also reduce the pollution of the amplified products to personnel and the environment. So, how to adjust the air pressure? The exhaust fans in the buffer zone I, II and PCR amplification zone can be turned on to exhaust air, and return air vents with adjustable air volume are installed on the walls of the experimental zone and on each door.

3. Disinfection

In the three independent areas described above, the top of the buffer zone and the inside of the transfer window must be equipped with UV lamps for disinfection. In addition, mobile ultraviolet lamps should be installed in the reagent preparation area and specimen preparation area to locally disinfect the experimental table.

4. Mechanical interlocking stainless steel transfer window

There are two types of stainless steel transfer windows: mechanical interlocking and electronic interlocking. It is recommended that the former be used in PCR laboratory design. In this way, it can effectively ensure that reagents and specimens are not contaminated when they pass through the transfer window.

5. Ground

For the integrity of the ground, corrosion resistance, and easy cleaning, it is recommended to choose artesian floor or PVC floor. If the budget is limited, it is recommended to choose a terrazzo floor or large tiles.

6. Lighting

Purification lamps must be used in PCR laboratories because they are not dusty and easy to clean. There are 2 points to pay attention to when installing purification lamps, namely: a standardized installation process and a comprehensive service process, and an installation process designed in strict accordance with the norms and scientifically.

7. Sample processing area

The sample processing area of the PCR laboratory should be divided into 4 parts, namely: reagent preparation area, sample processing area, nucleic acid amplification area, and product analysis area. If a fully automatic analyzer is used, the areas can be combined appropriately.
