Three considerations for physical and chemical laboratory design

To do a good job in physical and chemical laboratory design, you must master the relevant design considerations. So, what are the precautions for physical and chemical laboratory design? Specifically, there are three major considerations, namely: spatial scale, functional layout, and indoor layout.

Note 1: Spatial scale

The so-called "spatial scale", also known as "spatial modulus", here mainly refers to the scale of the physical and chemical laboratory's opening, depth, floor height, and corridor. Its design must consider two factors, namely: the range of activities of the staff, the requirements of laboratory equipment and instrument layout.

Note 2: Function layout

First of all, in terms of plane layout, we must comply with the requirements of "Laboratory Building Design Code" and "Building Design Fire Protection Code", separate the experimental area from the office area, and set up an access control system between the two areas. In addition, the main laboratory and auxiliary rooms should be coordinated with each other, and can be reasonably distributed according to the laboratory function process.

Secondly, it is necessary to separate the flow of people from the logistics to ensure that the experimental supplies will not be cross-contaminated, thereby affecting the accuracy of the experimental results. In addition, the emergency shower device cannot be ignored in the design of the physical and chemical laboratory, which can ensure the safety of the staff.

Note three: indoor layout

For the indoor layout of the physical and chemical laboratory design, the layout of three major areas must be done, namely: precision instrument analysis room, balance room, and clean room.

Precision instrument analysis room: As there are many precision instruments in the room, temperature and humidity must be controlled well. The instrument table must be sturdy and durable, the back panel is equipped with sockets, and the gas pipeline is laid. It is necessary to configure a universal exhaust hood to remove exhaust gas in time. The instrument adopts dual power supply and independent grounding protection.

Balance room: Like the precision instrument analysis room, temperature and humidity must be controlled. Specifically, it is necessary to configure a constant temperature and humidity system, double glazing and curtains. There is a sky platform, a turntable for weighing, and a side table for placing drying dishes. Among them, the sky platform must be earthquake-proof and placed in an area greater than 1 cm from the wall.

Clean room: There should be three areas in the room: dressing room, buffer room and clean area. The room must maintain a positive pressure, and the air must pass through the primary, medium, and high-efficiency filters for air circulation such as supply air and return air to ensure that the indoor cleanliness level meets the standard.
