The design basis of biological laboratories has three main goals: security, informatization, and intelligence. I. Three misunderstandings of laboratory designers:

1. Try to figure out the process flow of each laboratory in order to design the functional layout of the laboratory. (This is also a misunderstanding of many Party A companies)

2. Hope to get the design template of each laboratory.

3. Think that different industries have different laboratories.

II. Correctly understand the key points of laboratory design work:

1. The experimental process is in the hands of Party A. What the laboratory designer has to do is to design every single unit or other room to achieve compliance, scientificity and rationality. As for the functional layout and which laboratory is placed on which floor, it is up to the experimenter to understand and decide, and the laboratory designer should be responsible for providing reasonable suggestions.

2. The laboratory design should not have a fixed template, and the flow of people and logistics should be set according to actual needs.

3. There is no industry distinction between the design and construction categories of laboratories. The differences in laboratories are only in the process flow and functional layout. All national construction standards are also aimed at laboratories in all industries. "

III. Common design problems in biological laboratories:

1. The PCR corridor is not standard. Don't make PCR corridors hard when the depth is not enough, and PCR corridors will increase cross-contamination. The four common partitions of the PCR laboratory (reagent storage and preparation area, specimen preparation area, nucleic acid amplification area, product analysis area) originally have no hard and fast rules to be connected together. In physical space, these four partitions must be completely Independent, and should be completely separated during use, without direct communication with air.

2. The transfer window is not necessary to be set. As long as it does not involve clean and dirty diversion, no transfer window is required. The essence of the transfer window is the same as the buffer room, and the transfer window is the buffer room of logistics. When we design a biological laboratory, it is best not to add a transfer window in the reagent preparation room and the specimen preparation room to prevent cross-contamination.

3. The so-called "polluted area" and "semi-polluted area" have been cancelled in GB19489-2008. In addition, the laboratory corridors are divided into clean corridors and dirt corridors, which are also backward concepts many years ago. Only animal laboratories need to set up dirt corridors.
