Whether it is a chemical analysis laboratory or a precision instrument laboratory, the design specifications must be followed when designing the laboratory. Today’s article will introduce the laboratory design specifications for chemical analysis and precision instruments.

I. Design specification for chemical analysis laboratory

The design specifications for chemical analysis laboratories are embodied in three aspects: building requirements, water supply and drainage, and ventilation facilities.

1. Construction requirements: The focus is on fire resistance, so related building materials must have fire resistance. The floor can be a terrazzo floor, and the windows should be dust-proof. For indoor lighting, the door should open outward. There must be 2 exits to facilitate the evacuation of personnel in the event of an accident.

2. Water supply and drainage: The water supply must ensure the corresponding water pressure, water quality and water volume, so as to meet the operation of equipment and instruments. The main valve in the upper drain room should be set up in an easy-to-operate position, the sewer material is made of acid and alkali resistant materials, and the floor should have a floor drain.

3. Ventilation facilities: There is no doubt that ventilation design is the focus of chemical analysis laboratory design. After all, chemical analysis will produce toxic or flammable gases, so good ventilation conditions are indispensable. Specifically, the planning and design of full room ventilation, local exhaust hoods, and fume hoods should be done well.

II. Design specification for precision instrument laboratory

The design specifications of the precision instrument laboratory are embodied in three aspects: eight defenses, floor and power supply, voltage frequency and power supply.

1. Eight defenses: The so-called "eight defenses" mainly refer to fireproof, shockproof, moistureproof, dustproof, antimagnetic, noiseproof, anticorrosive, and harmful gases.

2. Floor and power supply: It is recommended to use terrazzo floor or anti-static floor on the floor. Carpet is not recommended because it is easy to accumulate dust and generate static electricity. The power supply should ensure voltage stability (±10% floating), and it can also be equipped with auxiliary equipment such as regulated power supply. In addition, in order to ensure uninterrupted power supply, dual power supplies must be used, and a dedicated ground wire must be provided, and the ground electrode resistance must be less than 4Ω.

3. Voltage frequency and power supply: In terms of voltage, if the instrument is controlled by a microcomputer or microcomputer, attention must be paid to the supply voltage and frequency. In terms of power supply, it is recommended to use an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to avoid voltage transients, instantaneous power outages, and insufficient voltage.
