When it comes to the design of biological laboratories, we must first abide by the norms and regulations, and then meet the technical indicators. So, what norms and regulations must be followed? What technical indicators should be met? I believe you will understand after reading the introduction below.

Before that, let me introduce what a biological laboratory is. The so-called biological laboratory, the professional name is "biological safety laboratory", also known as "biological safety protection laboratory", refers to a kind of laboratory that meets biosafety requirements, consisting of a main laboratory, other laboratories and auxiliary rooms .

I. Regulations on the design of biological laboratories

Regulations and technical indicators for biological laboratory design. For biological laboratory design, Party A shall provide Party B with relevant technical information and requirements such as the layout plan of the biological laboratory, and Party B’s designer must comply with 10 The regulations are listed in descending order of release time as follows:

1. "Code for Construction and Acceptance of Clean Room" (GB 50591-2010).

2. "General Requirements for Laboratory Biosafety" (GB 19489-2008).

3. "General Principles of Clinical Laboratory Design" (GB/T 20469-2006).

4. "Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings" (GB50016-2006).

5. "Technical Code for Biosafety Laboratory Building" (GB 50346-2004).

6. "Design Code for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning" (GB 50019-2003).

7. "Code for Construction Quality Acceptance of Ventilation and Air Conditioning Engineering" (GB 50243-2002).

8. "General Guidelines for Biosafety of Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories" (WS 233-2002).

9. "Code for Design of Clean Workshops in the Pharmaceutical Industry" (1997).

10. "Disinfection Management Measures" (Ministry of Health 1992).

II. Technical indicators of biological laboratory design

According to the degree of danger of experimental objects (microorganisms or pathogens) in biological laboratories, they can be divided into 4 levels, namely: P1 laboratory, P2 laboratory, P3 laboratory, and P4 laboratory. Among them, the P1 laboratory has the lowest requirements for biosafety isolation, while the P4 laboratory has the highest. According to these 4 levels, the technical indicators designed by the biological laboratory are as follows:

P1 laboratory: temperature is 16℃-28℃, relative humidity is ≤70%, noise is ≤60dB(A), and the minimum illumination is 300lx.

P2 laboratory: temperature is 18℃-27℃, relative humidity is 30%-65%, noise is ≤60dB(A), minimum illumination is 300lx.

P3 laboratory: the temperature is 20℃-26℃, the relative humidity is 30%-60%, the noise is ≤60dB(A), and the minimum illumination is 500lx.

P4 laboratory: The temperature is 20℃-25℃, the relative humidity is 30%-60%, the noise is ≤60dB(A), and the minimum illumination is 500lx.

The specifications and technical indicators for the design of biological laboratories are introduced above. Please pay more attention.
