"Qualification accreditation" has always been one of the standards for measuring "professionalism" in all walks of life. Of course, each industry has its own specific accreditation standards and institutions. With the continuous improvement of social economy, people's livelihood, and technological development, the market has gradually increased demand for various types of laboratories, and laboratories with various scientific functions have emerged. In the process of construction of various laboratories, in addition to the design and construction needs to be controlled, companies/institutions are also looking forward to gaining widespread recognition from the society while constantly seeking to improve laboratory management and technical capabilities. In the professional field of laboratories, the Boss, which has the power of qualification certification, is the organization that issues the certification/accreditation of CNAS and CMA. In this issue, CEIDI Xidi shared with you the relevant knowledge of CNAS accreditation and CMA accreditation on the hot topics in the laboratory construction qualification accreditation link. What are CNAS accreditation and CMA qualification accreditation? How do laboratories choose between CNAS accreditation and CMA qualification accreditation? Many companies confuse it and cannot make a decision. We can first understand its definition.
Definition of CNAS
"CNAS" is the English abbreviation of China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment). The China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment is a national accreditation body approved and authorized by the National Certification and Accreditation Administration in accordance with the provisions of the “Regulations on Certification and Accreditation of the People’s Republic of China”. Approval of work. CNAS was formed by the merger of the original National Accreditation Board of China Certification Body (abbreviated as CNAB) and the original National Accreditation Board of Laboratories (abbreviated as CNAL in English). CNAS confirms whether it is capable of carrying out corresponding conformity assessment activities (such as certification, testing and calibration, inspection, etc.) by evaluating and supervising the management and activities of conformity assessment bodies (such as certification bodies, laboratories, inspection bodies), and confirming their qualifications Assess the authority of the activity and play the role of accreditation and restraint.
Definition of CMA
"CMA" is the English abbreviation of China Metrology Accreditation. China Metrology Certification is a comprehensive certification and evaluation of the testing capabilities and reliability of inspection and testing institutions by the metrological administrative department of the people's government at or above the provincial level in accordance with the provisions of the Metrology Law of the People's Republic of China. The inspection and testing institutions that have obtained the certificate of metrological certification are allowed to use the CMA mark on the inspection report; the inspection report with the CMA mark can be used for product quality evaluation, results and judicial appraisal, and has legal effect. The country is currently pursuing compulsory measurement certification, review and accreditation, and laboratory accreditation in which laboratories participate voluntarily, to promote the improvement of laboratory inspection and testing quality, and to ensure the fairness, scientific and scientific nature of services provided by inspection and testing institutions to the society. Authoritative, and these certifications are based on the "Measurement Law", "Standardization Law" and "Quality Law" and other laws and regulations.
Take the laboratory with the main business of testing function as an example. From the above definition, it is not difficult to see that CMA laboratory qualification (China Metrology Certification) is a mandatory approval system for testing institutions to enter the testing service market, and laboratories must have this qualification In order to provide testing services for the society. CNAS is consistent with the foreign laboratory accreditation system and is a voluntary application for competency accreditation to prove that it meets the competence requirements of international counterparts in calibration and/or testing laboratories. In other words, CNAS can apply for all laboratories. As long as they have the corresponding testing capabilities, they can be certified, including first-party, second-party, third-party laboratories, enterprises and even individual laboratories, with a wide range. CMA generally only applies to third-party laboratories, and also includes a small number of specific second-party laboratories. The scope is relatively small. Generally, it is combined with the review and approval. It is only eligible if authorized by the government.
