The design and decoration points of the intelligent ship high temperature laboratory of Shanghai Ship Research Institute CEIDI

In the new wave of technological revolution, the widespread application of technologies such as the Internet of Things and big data, as well as the arrival of the intelligent era, have also brought a profound impact on the development of the shipping industry. Ships are customized products, with complex product structures, long production cycles, high production costs, and high coordination capabilities in the production process. In accordance with the relevant requirements for establishing a standard system for intelligent ship manufacturing in the "Guidelines for the Construction of Intelligent Standard System for Ship Assembly Construction (2020 Edition)" issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the construction of a modern ship intelligent manufacturing plant revolves around digitalization, automation, and lean production.


In April 2020, Shanghai Ship Technology Research Institute and Shanghai Xidi Industrial Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CEIDI Xidi) established a related cooperation to jointly build a modern intelligent ship high temperature laboratory.

The Shanghai Ship Technology Research Institute is the only comprehensive research institute in the shipbuilding industry that focuses on the modernization of shipbuilding technology for military ships, civil ships, and marine engineering. The main research directions are: construction technology, technical equipment and testing technology of ships, offshore oil platforms, marine structures and various steel structures.

A general steel shipbuilding factory consists of the following production workshops and facilities:

① Stakeout workshop. At present, most of the computers are used to complete the lofting work of the hull line type, the shape and size of the hull parts and structures.

②Steel pretreatment workshop. Perform pretreatments such as leveling and straightening of steel plates and section steels, shot peening, rust removal, and primer spraying.

③Hull processing workshop. Numbering, cutting, and bending the steel, and processing the edge shape of the parts.

④ Assembly and welding workshop. Assemble the parts into parts to make the plane and three-dimensional sections of the hull; after the hull sections are derusted and painted, pre-installation of piping, electromechanics, and cabin decoration are carried out in this workshop.

⑤ Open-air and indoor slipway (dock) and other launching facilities. Close the sections of the hull, install shafting, rudder, superstructure, and part of the piping and instruments, and perform part of the decoration work. After the hull is painted, it will slide or float into the water.

⑥ Outfitting dock and workshop. Complete the rest of the electrical, insulation, decoration and other outfitting work, do the dock test, and conduct the sailing delivery test.


In order to meet the production process of grinding, assembling, and high temperature curing of large parts of ships, including high temperature and high pressure testing, CEIDI Xidi provides integrated services for the whole process of design and decoration of this laboratory in accordance with relevant standards. The high-temperature test chamber is a testing test for simulating products under high-temperature tests. It is used to assess and determine the adaptability of products or materials for storage and use under temperature-changing environmental conditions. It is a necessary requirement for product simulation environmental tests. According to the special nature of the shipbuilding industry, CEIDI pays special attention to some special details during the laboratory decoration process, such as: color galvanized steel sandwich panels are used on the outer walls; roof lighting is set up at larger work scales. The lighting belt (flat skylight or triangular skylight, see industrial building lighting) should be arranged in a 90° direction with the sections, so that the inner and outer sections of the frame stand and the working surfaces of different elevations can obtain sufficient natural light; use unique The air duct system design and electronic control system can maintain a high uniformity of temperature throughout the room; measures such as eliminating electric welding exhaust gas, roof ventilation and paying attention to the use of draughts; indoor reasonable setting of the working power supply of the equipment under test, and good grounding devices, Set up shielding device; set up reliable fire prevention and extinguishing measures, not only to be beneficial to environmental protection, but also to prevent outdoor high temperature and noise pollution; in addition, the gates of the passage sections and general sections of the workshop, due to the characteristics of the volume of the ship, the width of the gate The workshops have the same span and the same height as the crane rails. In order to facilitate opening and closing, an automatic switching device is provided.
